How to get there

Alvaneu-Dorf - the place

In the midst of the Swiss Alps, Alvaneu is situated 1200 meters above sea level on a sunny terrace in the Albula valley.
It is off the main through routes, but in the heart of the Grisons. Alvaneu is a small village with 440 inhabitants.

The resorts of Davos and Lenzerheide are just a 20-minute drive away (regular bus service during day-time). St. Moritz is an hour's drive away.

Only 2 kilometers from Alvaneu-Dorf is Alvaneu-Bad which offers a 18-hole golf course as well as a spa (sulphur), which was (re-)opened at the end of 2001.

In winter, Alvaneu offers a beginner's ski slope, cross country skiing, and sledging.

In summer and autumn, it is a starting point for fine hiking and excursions to suit every taste.

There is a grocery store with all daily necessities, and a restaurant offering fine dining.

How to get there:

• Car: To Chur -> follow the autobahn to Thusis -> turn off towards St. Moritz -> at Tiefencastel turn off towards Davos -> follow the signs towards Davos: the second village you will get to is Alvaneu-Dorf.
  Driving time from Chur app. 45 min.
  
  
• Public: By train to Chur -> take the bus from Chur via Lenzerheide towards Davos; it takes app. 1 hour to get to Alvaneu-Dorf. Sometimes you will have to change buses in Lenzerheide; sometimes you wil get direct buses from Chur.
